Cabinet Will Sign A Contract For Supervision Of The New Terminal Of The Kia

The Cabinet will next week sign a contract for supervision of the new terminal of the Kuwait International Airport, reports Al-Anba daily quoting an official source. He explained that the contract worth KD 72 million will be signed with the British Consultancy Firm Foster to supervise the contractors’ works for a period of 71 months.

The source revealed that the foundation stone of the new airport terminal will be placed on May 9 in the presence of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Meanwhile, Ministry of Commerce and Industry has formed three committees for dealing with issues related to the realestate sector, reports Al-Shahed daily.

According to informed sources, the first committee will be in charge of following up and confronting the sale of fake real-estate properties, the second committee will evaluate the real-estate properties and the third committee will study the problems and obstacles facing the real-estate sector and offer adequate solutions.

They said the three committees are not cooperating with the real-estate registry at Ministry of Justice and the Real-Estate Union, Brokers Union and Public Authority for Civil Information, revealing that the brokers’ books are in the hands of expatriates who control the prices due to lack of a real-estate mediator.

In the meantime, Undersecretary of Ministry of Electricity and Water Mohammad Boushahri has announced the formation of a committee for investigating the pollution in desalination station and the cases of fish deaths in the bay area close to the ministry’s station, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The investigation committee was formed based on instructions from the Minister of Electricity and Water Essam Al-Marzouq to identify the reasons behind the fish deaths. The work of the committee will finish within two weeks
