Arrival Of Ventilators And Personal Protective Devices From China

The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences announced the arrival of artificial respirators and personal protective devices that the institution purchased from China for the benefit of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health, as part of the Foundation’s efforts in the emergency response program to limit the spread of the emerging corona virus (Covid – 19).
Dr. Amani Al-Baddah, Deputy Director of Supporting Programs at the Foundation, said in a press statement today, Sunday, that the Foundation was able to purchase and import more than 170 respirators and a large amount of medical protection methods that started to arrive in the country, expecting the arrival of the aircraft loaded with the remaining quantities this week.

Al-Baddah, who is also in charge of the public health program in the emergency response program, stated that the arrival of this equipment comes with the aim of raising the health system’s readiness to receive critical cases at this stage.
they pointed out that the Foundation has allocated an amount of 5 million Kuwaiti dinars (about 16.5 million US dollars) to purchase priority devices to support the health system, noting that “next week, two military planes loaded with health protection devices are expected to arm the first row against infection and enable them to perform their duties in Protect society. ”

they  clarified that the emergency response program announced by the Foundation since its inception in mid-March is one of the largest programs dedicated to supporting government efforts in Kuwait, as it has allocated a budget of 10 million dinars (about 33 million dollars).
they  indicated that she harnessed this program to its full potential, human resources and six centers, in order to support government efforts in the fields of education, health, business environment, civil society readiness, information and information technology to reduce the spread of the virus and the consequences of disease spread to society.

Al-Baddah thanked the Ambassador of Kuwait to the People’s Republic of China, Samih Hayat, and his continuous efforts to secure medical devices and ensure their smooth arrival in this critical period in which the entire world suffers from severe shortages, as well as to the assistant undersecretary of medicines and medical equipment at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Abdullah Al-Badr, for his continuous cooperation in securing the required equipment To the ministry.

Al-Baddah emphasized that the emergency response program is also concerned with supporting scientific research supporting decision-making, supporting field innovations with outstanding effectiveness, contributing to community awareness, supporting digital education, empowering the private sector and civil society initiatives.
they  pointed out that a group of projects supporting the health sector are under review by the Ministry of Health and will be implemented as soon as the Ministry approves them.
