Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRSC) has today received a donation of over 115,000 new clothing items – worth around $2M – from Alshaya Group.
The clothing donation, which will be distributed to 5000 families in need registered with KRCS, reflects Alshaya’s commitment to the local community in the State of Kuwait.
Commenting on the donation, Mohammed Alshaya, Executive Chairman of Alshaya Group, said, “Alshaya Group is committed to supporting communities in Kuwait and we are honoured that, through our donation to Kuwait Red Crescent Society and with their support, many families can benefit at a time when many across the world have been affected by the pandemic.
“Colleagues from our stores and head office here in Kuwait are looking forward to offering help and support to families who are attending the KRCS distribution events to make sure they receive the right clothing for their needs.”
Chairman of the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer added “We are thrilled with the donation from Alshaya Group, assisting us in our goal of reaching families in need and affected by COVID-19 in Kuwait. This unprecedented pandemic has seen people affected from all parts of our community and we will ensure that such a donation makes a difference as quickly as possible.”
