Muhammad Bashir, DG of Bash Aviation Company for Travel and Tourism says despite the end of Eid al-Adha holidays and the end of almost one month of summer vacation, flight tickets are still expensive due to continuing demand by citizens and residents to travel. Al- Anba daily reports that Kuwaiti flights to some preferred destinations have increased by 200 percent as a result of this demand.

Kuwaitis are currently most interested in Turkey, Egypt, London, Baku, and the Maldives, according to Bashir. As a result of the ongoing high demand for those destinations after the Eid holidays, roundtrip airfares are high. From Kuwait, some of those destinations are not expensive, but return tickets are. At present, a round-trip flight ticket to London costs approximately KD 390, but KD 100 one-way.

At the end of the Eid holidays, a ticket to the Maldives costs about KD 334 round trip, but only between KD 75 and KD 130 one way. Currently, a one-way ticket to Egypt costs about KD 172. In the last one-two days, the cost of a one-way trip from Kuwait to Egypt has risen again to almost KD 100.
