Administration Is A Challenge In Most Development Projects

Recently, the government released a report on the status of development projects. The report listed 688 projects as facing various types of obstacles, with 79% of them having been overcome, mostly administratively.

According to a report by an Arabic daily, the number of challenges grew from 635 in 2020-2021 to 688 in 2021-2022 in the follow-up report of the development plan in the third quarter of 2021-2022.

In the third quarter of 2021-2022, administrative challenges amounted to 253 or 36.8%, while technical challenges made up the rest with 211 or 30.7%, which resulted in 157 challenges being resolved.

A total of 93 financial challenges were encountered -- an average of 13.5% -- out of which 75 were resolved, while 87 regulatory challenges were encountered, most of which were resolved.
