A New Maternity Hospital Will Serve The Citizens

According to the Ministry of Public Works, the new maternity hospital is 65 percent complete, with 789 beds, 460 patient rooms, and 198 intensive care units for premature babies, as well as 27 operating theatres, 58 delivery rooms, 74 outpatient clinics, a parking lot with a capacity of 1,219 cars, and two basements at the outpatient building with a capacity of 532 cars.

According to a local Arabic daily, the hospital is being erected on 53,395 square metres in the Al-Sabah Health District of the Capital Governorate, with a total building size of 347,656 square metres, which includes a central service station.

The hospital will suit citizens' requirements, as the previous hospital is unable to cope with the rising rate of births.
