5.4 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Egypt

Dr. Gad El-Kady, head of the National Institute for Astronomical Research in Egypt, said that the stations of the National Seismic Network recorded an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 on the Richter scale,

as the earthquake was within the Mediterranean, and was felt by residents of coastal cities and the Egyptian capital, Cairo. In a press statement, El-Kady explained that the National Seismic Network operates through 70 stations whose locations have been carefully selected, in light of the seismic history of all of Egypt, and it has become impossible for any earthquake or earthquake to occur without recording and monitoring it
