The decision of the Supreme Committee for Commercial Restoration at Kuwait International Airport, M. Saad Al-Otaibi, that the total number of arriving and departing passengers has reached 42,410 since the resumption of commercial flights operating through 534 flights, stressing that the airport’s preparations are in accordance with the health protocol that includes the application of travel procedures in accordance with health requirements, in implementation of the Cabinet’s decision within the first phase of commercial operation, which extends to Next February.

Al-Otaibi told that the General Administration of Civil Aviation did not make any changes to the list of the 31 prohibited countries from entering Kuwaiti lands within the repercussions of the Corona pandemic, indicating that the health authorities review the decision every 10 days carefully to determine the extent of the improvement of conditions Health in those states.

On air traffic at the airport, Al-Otaibi mentioned that Kuwait airport is witnessing normal and successful movement, as the number of passengers departing since the start of commercial flights from the beginning of this month until yesterday reached 28,414 passengers through 285 commercial flights, stressing that all flights are running normally and without any delay.

Regarding arrivals, he stressed that all incoming travelers are subject, in accordance with the directions of the health authorities, to home quarantine for 14 days, pointing out that the number of incoming flights to Kuwait since the operation of commercial flights reached more than 249 flights until yesterday, which included 13,996 passengers on board.

He pointed out that the Supreme Committee for the Restoration of Commercial Flights is continuously following up with the participation of many concerned state authorities the needs and variables of commercial operation and the observations of the authorities working at the airport in an up-to-date manner to ensure that the precautionary measures and health requirements are applied within the stage of operating commercial flights.

Al-Otaibi explained that the airport requires all travelers coming to Kuwait, whether citizens or residents, to present a PCR certificate in the English language, provided that it is issued by one of the laboratories accredited by the competent authorities in Kuwait and its validity does not exceed 72 hours from the date of taking the sample until the acceptance of the passenger on the flight. And confirms that it is free of the virus.
