3 Children Burnt To Death In Farwaniya Apartment Fire
3 children dead, two critical due to a fire that engulfed their apartment in Farwaniya area.
According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about the apartment on fire in Farwaniya area, firefighters rushed to the location with securitymen and paramedics and discovered that the fire broke out in an apartment on the sixth floor of a residential building. When they were informed that some people are trapped inside the burning apartment, they immediately worked on rescuing the victims.
They pulled out five children and their mother from the burning apartment. Paramedics examined them to discover three of the children had succumbed to heavy smoke inhalation while the remaining two and their mother were alive but in critical condition.
The corpses were referred to the Forensics Department while the injured victims were referred to Farwaniya Hospital where they were admitted in the Intensive Care Unit. One of the firefighters also sustained burns on his hand while he was extinguishing the fire. He was referred to Farwaniya Hospital for treatment too.
Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) has launched investigations to determine the cause of the fire. Director General of KFSD Lieutenant General Yousef Abdullah Al-Ansari expressed his grief over this tragic incident which resulted in the death of three children.
