266,000 Passengers Will Travel On National Holidays
Kuwait International Airport anticipates heavy travel during the national holidays, with estimated numbers reaching 266,000 passengers between departure and arrival.
According to Mansour Al-Hashemi, Director of the General Administration of Civil Aviation's Operations Department, the company has prepared fully for the travel season during the national holidays, and has completed an integrated operational plan with Kuwait Airport authorities. This includes the Ministry of Interior, the General Administration of Customs, ground service providers and airlines.
Al-Hashemi revealed, in a statement, that “they are prepared to keep up with the flow of passengers and aircraft during the national holidays by operating destinations mainly to London, Najaf, Istanbul, Cairo and Dubai with 1975 flights, of which 990 will be departures and 985 will be arrivals.
According to him, additional flights will be added based on travel procedures by increasing capacity based on passenger reservations, and operating requests for airlines according to schedules.
A team of employees from the Operations Department has also been assigned to provide passengers with all facilities and to direct them from the airport entrance gate until they board the airplane, as well as to set barriers to prevent other passengers from moving around the airport.
