14000 Illegal Expats Benefit From Kuwait Amnesty

A total of 14,000 illegal expatriates have so far benefited from the amnesty which was announced by Kuwait's Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Shaikh Khalid Al Jarrah.

According to statistics received until February 14, the Indian community benefited the most from the 25-day amnesty, Al Qabas newspaper reported.

The statistics have revealed that the Bangladeshi community benefited the least from the visa waiver although they include 25,000 illegal immigrants living in Kuwait.

Shaikh Al Jarrah had issued an edict announcing the grace period, which started on January 29 and will run until February 22.

The Deputy Premier could extend the deadline to allow illegal expats to leave the country, in light of pressure on flight bookings at travel agencies
