Two Minute Silence Observed By Indian Community To Honor Late Amir

Kuwait's Indian Embassy lowered its national flag to half mast on Sunday to mark India's state of mourning for one day on December 17th. The Indian Minister of Petroleum, Natural Gas, Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri joined Indian Ambassador Dr Adarsh Swaika and all the Embassy staff in a two-minute silence at Sunday 12:30 noon after the flag was flown at half-mast in front of the building.

On Sunday 12:30, several members of the Indian community and Community Associations observed a two-minute silence in honor of the late Amir HH Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad.

To join the 1.4 billion Indians in India mourning the late Amir of Kuwait, the Indian Embassy had earlier called on all Indians in Kuwait to observe two minutes of silence at 12:30 noon.

A day of mourning was declared throughout India on Sunday, December 17th, and all official entertainment was cancelled in respect of Kuwait's late Amir, His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
