The Ministry Of Finance Calls On The Ministry Of Education To Promote Tax Culture Among High School Students And Teachers
The Ministry of Finance is urging the Ministry of Education to facilitate workshops and meetings aimed at fostering tax awareness among high school students and teachers.
In a letter addressed to the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Director of the Tax Compliance Department, Mei Al-Kandari, highlighted the Ministry of Finance's initiative to conduct discussion sessions and workshops to enhance tax literacy among twelfth-grade students in both scientific and literary streams of secondary education. However, despite obtaining approval from the Ministry of Education in 2019, some school administrations have hesitated to cooperate, citing the need for a formal letter of approval.
Al-Kandari expressed hope for a reconsideration of the approval process, urging district managers to facilitate these educational sessions in schools. She emphasized the importance of involving teachers in these initiatives, recognizing their significant role in shaping societal perspectives.
