Speaker Allocates 2 Hours For Deliberations On Coronavirus

04 February 2020 Coronavirus

National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al- Ghanim has confirmed the allocation of two hours in Tuesday’s session for deliberations on the precautions and readiness of the government in dealing with coronavirus as per the request of MPs.

In a press conference Monday, the speaker also affirmed allotting another two hours of the session slated for Tuesday to discuss the Palestinian issue; particularly the so called ‘deal of the century’.

He went on to say that voting on the no-confidence motion against former Social Affairs Minister Ghadeer Aseri remains in the agenda for the session since the Assembly was officially informed about Aseri’s resignation only on Sunday. He disclosed the protocol on accepting the minister’s resignation and assigning an acting minister will be read at the beginning of the session, so the no-confidence voting will not be discussed. Other items in the agenda include endorsement of the minutes, incoming letters, questions and continuation of the MPs’ response to the Amiri speech, the Speaker added.
