Scholarships For Medical Specialties In Egypt And Jordan Will Be Stopped
According to Lamia Al-Mulhim, acting undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, the Ministry is moving forward with its decision to end scholarships for medical specialties in the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
As reported on social media, the Ministry affirmed that the decision to stop scholarships is not being retracted, and that this matter is about improving scholarship quality.
An explanation of the decision was issued by the Kuwaiti Cultural Office in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, stating that Ministerial Resolution No. 183 regarding the suspension of direct dispatch to study medicine in Jordan for a period of time.
Based on recommendations from the National Bureau for Academic Accreditation and Education Quality Assurance, the office confirmed respecting and implementing the decision. In order to ensure that Kuwaitis are not crowded into a specific university or country, the Ministry of Higher Education is keen on periodic evaluation of accredited universities to ensure quality and diversification of accredited countries and universities for study.
Kuwaiti students continuing to study in Jordanian universities will not be affected by this decision, the office said. “We will extend a helping hand to those who wish to enroll at their own expense, and we will continue to sponsor Kuwaiti students in Jordan and ensure that this does not affect their situation.”
In a note to all inquiries, the cultural office noted that it is working on a direct response through its website, kco_jo.com, in order to ensure that information is taken from the official websites of the ministry.
