Restaurant Union: Re-imposing A New Ban.. Quick End To The Restaurant Sector

07 November 2020 Lockdown

Arabic local newspaper alanba reported that The head of the Kuwaiti Federation of Restaurants, Cafes and Catering, Fahad Al-Arbash, confirmed that the health recommendations to re-impose partial seizures on the country will inflict a death on the Kuwaiti economy, especially since the results of the previous ban that the country witnessed were disastrous for the economy in general.

Al-Arbash added in a special statement to Al-Anbaa, that the Restaurants Union supports the application of health measures that are in the interest of citizens, but at the same time he believes that the imposition of any new ban on the country means a quick end to the restaurants and catering sector, which was able with great difficulty to overcome the effects of the previous ban. Noting that the consequences of the previous ban resulted in the exit of a large segment of small investors from the market, especially the owners of coffee shops, whose activities have completely stopped since last March, so that many of them lost their money while others face cases before the courts.

Al-Arbash stressed that the Federation of Restaurants, Cafes and Catering is not against imposing a partial ban on the country, but this time it will demand the government to pay urgent compensation to those affected by the closure, especially since a large segment of restaurant and café owners are being pursued by banks and are demanding to repay their loans and financial obligations towards it.
