Rents To Be Hiked

Minister of Social Affairs and Minister of State for Economic Affairs Maryam Al-Aqeel has approved the proposal of the Social Development Sector in the Ministry of Social Affairs to increase the rent for wedding halls and development centers, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting informed sources.
Affirming that the proposal has been forwarded to the Ministry of Finance for approval, sources revealed the proposed rent is KD300 instead of KD100 for weddings, KD500 for theater performances and KD1,000 for graduation ceremonies. The proposal includes increasing the insurance for the halls from KD100 to KD300. Sources added the proposal stipulates that all hall reservations are made through the ‘Occasion House’ application currently applied in the ministry and under its supervision.
