Registration Open For Candidates Of New Elections
For a period of ten days starting from Monday, registration will be open for those wishing to run for the National Assembly election, which is scheduled to be held on December 5, reports Al-Anba daily.
Unlike previous years, the concerned authorities have, for the first time, banned media coverage of the registration process of the parliamentary aspirants except for the Ministry of Information and Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) through which news will be disseminated to other local media in regard to the aforementioned process.
The banning of media coverage by all private press establishments is aimed to reduce the number of people at the registration centers, avoid crowding of supporters, and most importantly, preserve the safety of everyone in those centers.
This was announced by the Director General of the General Administration for Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Interior Colonel Salah Al-Shatti.
Â
Regarding the registration mechanism for candidates infected with COVID-19 or subject to quarantine, Colonel Al-Shatti explained that the Ministry of Health has provided medical cadres to receive the infected candidates and the quarantined candidates by allowing them to register in the “Shlonak” app to obtain prior permission, and then proceed to the registration center at Khawla Girl High School. Upon the arrival of such candidates, they will be received by the employees of the Ministry of Health for identity verification, and directed to the place designated for registration in accordance with the health requirements, in a private vehicle in a bid to ensure the aspirants will not come in contact with other people.
