Purchase Of 1 Million Doses Of Moderna Vaccine Worth Kd12 Million Pending At Audit Bureau

The Central Agency for Public Tenders has approved the Ministry of Health’s request for an agreement with Moderna to supply one million doses of anti-Corona vaccine, Al Qabas reported quoting informed sources.

The sources told the daily that the new vaccine would start arriving in the country after the sign-off from the Audit bureau. The value of the contract with Moderna is KD 12 million equivalent to USD 40 million. The coming days are likely to reveal details about the arrival of the first shipment of the Moderna vaccine, provided the approval of the Bureau.

The sources stated that the Ministry is monitoring the latest developments and developments of vaccines that are approved by international health organizations, to bring them in the country after registration and license locally, to ensure optimal handling of the requirements of the next phase, and reach vaccination of 70% of the country’s population.
