Public Authority For Manpower Accomplishes 80 Percent Of Automation Transfer From Csc
Deputy Director General for Human Resources and Finance at the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) Khloud Al-Shehab affirmed that the sector has accomplished 80 percent of the automation transfer from Civil Service Commission to PAM.
He noted over KD 120,000 service charges were paid via K-Net on Thursday and the authority accomplished 4,539 work permits in a single day. Al-Shehab disclosed the labor departments succeeded in using online portal for transactions, noting the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor owns the automation system used by PAM and Civil Service Commission to carry out transactions in all labor departments. “Subsequent to the establishment PAM through Labor Law Number 6/2010, Civil Service Commission managed the system until nearly a month ago before its transfer to the authority under the control of Information Systems Center.
She explained the transfer included databases and systems to make operation complete, and that PAM activated the automated link with all relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Health, Public Authority for Social Security, and Government and Manpower Restructuring Project to enhance input and output of information.
She explained “before the transfer procedures were carried out, plans were laid down to reduce the rate of faults and errors that were likely to be caused by the transfer process”. She noted potential obstacles were also studied and successful alternatives were also made available to facilitate the transfer within a period of three weeks. She disclosed that 13,819 companies have username and password to access the portal, and 646 of them used it for transactions on Thursday to issue 294 work permits. She also said 270 work permits were issued for the first time, while 3,468 work permits were renewed the same day. She added 68 and 75 work permits were issued and renewed respectively for Kuwaiti manpower.
Speaking on the statistics for Thursday’s activities, she reiterated that 4,539 work permits were issued, 46 were amended and 266 were canceled. She continued that another 982 work permits were processed — including 838 first time work permits, while 45 new files were opened, in addition to 32 additional licenses, while 23 licenses were canceled and 3 licenses were transferred, and 659 workers transfer were accomplished.
