Prior Approval Needed To Change Vehicle Color
The General Traffic Department announced a set of controls regarding changing vehicle colors to matte and glossy paints, reports Al-Anba daily. The instructions say, prior approval must be obtained from the Information and International Standards Department at the Technical Inspection Department; the paint should be plain and not resemble government cars (police, army, national guards, ambulance, firefighting force, etc.), while prohibiting the use of body masking and non-fixed materials instead of paint.
The Traffic Department called for following the steps before the painting process – filling out a request form to change or add a color to the vehicle; the vehicle to the produced before the Technical Inspection Department in the Capital Governorate, International Standards Department to obtain the initial approval and then visit the specialized workshops and companies to complete the painting process; then proceed to complete the insurance documents mentioning the new color. This should be followed by producing the vehicle to the Technical Inspection Department, Capital Governorate, Department of International Standards to change vehicle data in the computer.
