Plan On Cards To Terminate Moe Expats
The Ministry of Education (MoE) will receive in the first week of next December the list of jobs covered by the plan to replace expatriate workers with Kuwaitis for fiscal 2020/2021, reports Al-Rai daily quoting a source from the educational sector.
The source revealed that the replacement process will most likely include some members of the educational staff, particularly those specialized in fields in which the number of employees is excessive.
The source went on to say that the implementation of the decision to promote employees based on seniority will be at the beginning of January next year; while the promotion by selection will be implemented on March 31, 2021.
The source also confirmed the completion of procedures for many of the new teachers who met the conditions, but their interview is still suspended due to the corona crisis. Meanwhile, Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (KGOC) has requested the Ministry of Public Works to extend the implementation period for the construction and completion of the road between Abdullah Port and Wafra for one year and a half, reports Al- Anba daily quoting sources from the company. Sources revealed the extension will give the company enough time to change the way of protecting oil pipelines, which are being used to get Kuwait’s share of production from the joint operations area in Wafra.
Sources said the contract for the construction, completion and maintenance of roads, rain and sanitary sewers and other services for the road linking Mina Abdullah and Wafra was supposed to be completed at the end of last year; but the changes that KGOC intends to make in the pipeline will be in confl ict with project work in the third and fourth stages, such that completion of the project is postponed until March 2021.
