Permits For Expats – 4 Officials Authorized To Grant Travel Permit
State Minister for Municipal Affairs Eng Waleed Khalifa Al-Jassem recently issued a circular specifying four officials authorized to grant travel permits to non- Kuwaiti employees at Kuwait Municipality, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The minister has also instructed officials assigned in the Municipality’s administrative units not to grant travel permits to non- Kuwaiti employees under special contracts, as this is under the jurisdiction of the concerned authorities in the Municipality.
According to the circular, the four officials authorized to grant travel permits to non-Kuwaiti employees are as follows: Secretary General of the Municipal Council Bader Al-Rifaei, Deputy Gen-eral Manager of the Financial and Administrative Affairs Sector Fouad Al-Raghaib, Personnel Affairs Department Director Osama Al-Omairi and Fun-ctional Affairs Supe-rvisor Badr Al-Sarraf.
In the meantime, In response to a parliamentary inquiry before her resignation, former Social Affairs Minister Gadeer Aseeri confirmed the ministry’s commitment to abide by the rules and procedures on Kuwaitization of governmental jobs, reports Al-Qabas daily. She also affirmed that the necessary procedures were taken to reduce the number of non-Kuwaiti employees in the public sector. She revealed 14 expatriate employees in the ministry and nine in the Public Authority for Handicapped Affairs (PAHA) were terminated in fiscal 2017/2018; in addition to four in the ministry and eight in PAHA during fiscal 2018/2019.
