Panel Discusses Phenomenon Of Bachelors In Residential Areas
The committee that has been formed to address the phenomenon of singles housing in private and model housing areas during its meeting chaired by the head of the committee, Eng. Ammar Al- Ammar, discussed various issues. The meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Interior and a number of government institutions and agencies. The meeting came at a time all the governorates of Kuwait are moaning the problems created by singles, and while the singles themselves are suffering from the failure to implement plans for residential workers’ cities, with the municipality itself continuing to discuss the problem of singles for years in order to solve it.
Loophole The Director-General of Kuwait Municipality, Eng Ahmad Al-Manfouhi, has previously confirmed that there is a loophole in the law that contributed to delaying solving the problem of singles in residential areas, indicating the importance of amending the private law in dealing with this problem. The Municipality launched a campaign in the middle of last year to prevent the spread of singles in private housing areas, but it stopped due to the outbreak of corona.
On the other hand, the Engineering Audit and Follow-up Department at the Hawalli Municipality branch implemented the procedures for cutting off electrical current to 12 properties for violating the Ministerial Resolution No. 57/2019 in the areas of Salwa, Salmiya, Bayan and Rumaithiya in cooperation with the Ministry of Electricity and Water and security support from the Ministry of Interior.
In this context, the Director of the Engineering Audit and Followup Department, Eng. Mubarak Al-Ajami, explained that the supervisory team in the Engineering Audit and Follow-up Department took all legal measures regarding these properties before implementing the power cut. Al-Ajmi added that field tours are continuing to monitor all properties to keep a tap on the violations and legal measures are taken wherever necessary.
