Pam Has Affirmed To Takes Some Steps To Regulate Labor Market
Director of Administrative Development and Training Department at the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) Fahad Al-Murad has affirmed that some steps are being taken to wage war against marginal workers and regulate the labor market. Al-Murad explained these steps aim to regulate the issuance of work permits, redefine the concept of marginal workers, activate role of governmental authorities in tackling the problem, and investigate processes carried out by relevant government authorities in recruiting workers.
He confirmed there is a strong coordination between PAM and relevant government authorities such as the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Public Authority for Industry and International Organization for Migration. He said the recommendations presented in a symposium held recently focused on defining the concept of marginal workers who are considered excess workers in the labor market, those without qualifications, and have low educational attainment.
Other recommendations include issuing work permits based on actual labor market needs, carrying out a study to categorize professions according to qualification, age, period of service, and cooperation between the concerned authorities concerning exchange of information and automation
