Oil Ministry Complex Evacuated Over Suspected Corona Case. Test Confirm No Corona Among Employee

An employee in the Ministry of Oil complex in Shuwaikh area suffered high temperature but tests concluded she only had regular seasonal flu, Minister of Oil Dr Khaled Al-Fadhel confirmed Wednesday.

Local media reported that the employee joined her work Wednesday at the Ministry of Oil after having been on sick leave for three days, showed symptoms of “Corona”. The employee was not out of the country, but had been in contact with family members who had been in Iran and Thailand during the past days. However all test carried on her showed that she had only normal flu.

The employee was give a two-day rest, said Al-Fadhel and reiterated the Ministry of Oil and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) applied preventive health measures to ensure safety of all employees in the sea-side oil complex.

Al-Fadhel, also Acting Minister of Electricity and Water, said in a statement to KUNA the employee was taken to the clinic in the oil complex and then sent to Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital for further tests.

Earlier, the Management of the oil complex, evacuated the 9th floor at the Oil Ministry building, and applied all health measures for the safety of all employees.
