Officers from the Criminal Evidence General Department in the Interior Ministry arrested two Arab men for stealing two safe deposit boxes which contained an undisclosed amount of money from a company, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

In a press statement, the Public Relations and Security Media General Department revealed the Capital Security Department received a complaint from a Kuwaiti who said the suspects stole two safe deposit boxes. A thorough investigation ensued leading to the arrest of an Arab man who worked in the company and he tried to flee from the country. He told the investigators that he had an accomplice — a compatriot. He said they climbed over the wall and entered through the window to steal the safe deposit boxes.

They then drove to a desert area where they broke the safe deposit boxes, divided the money between them and set fire to the vehicle they used. He guided police to the place where he hid the stolen money in a traveling bag, as well as the location of the burnt vehicle with the damaged safe deposit boxes inside. The other suspect already left the country so the authorities coordinated with the Interpol, resulting in his arrest. Both suspects were referred to the relevant security unit.
