Number Of Tenders Related To Establishing New Roads Were Cancelled In Order To Preserve Public Funds

 Minister of Public Works Eng Hussam Al-Roumi says a number of tenders related to establishing new roads were cancelled in order to preserve public funds and ensure equality and competition among the bidders, reports Al-Qabas daily.

In response to a question submitted by MP Mohammad Hadiya, Al-Roumi explained that the decision was taken to prevent companies that are not qualified as per the criteria declared in the official gazette. He gave directives for the cancelation of Tenders 260 and 261 after receiving and confirming information that some bidding companies had qualified based on conditions of 2010 amended in 2012 which the Central Agency of Public Tenders were informed about and were published in the official gazette.

Other companies had qualified based on the conditions of 2015 which the Central Agency of Public Tenders was not informed about and were not published in the official gazette.
