Need To Allocate Private Beaches With Security
Municipal Council member Mishael Al-Hamdhan has proposed allocation of beach front with suitable temperature for swimming similar to other countries and with symbolic fee, given that such kind of swimming areas exist only in marine clubs, reports Al-Rai daily.
In his proposal, Al-Hamdhan stressed the need to allocate private beaches with security and regular maintenance to guarantee the safety of visitors; in addition to providing changing rooms, chairs, umbrellas, various means of comfort and luxury and everything that visitors need.
He also proposed allocation of a free zone near the airport for buying, selling and trading of gold, jewelry, gemstones and precious items. He pointed out this will have a positive impact on the economy, attract regional markets, and encourage foreign investors to enter the local market.
In another proposal, he suggested allowing the sale of related products in salons as a way of organizing work in these establishments in a manner that will render such practices legal provided the products are licensed by the concerned authorities and the display area should not exceed two meters wide as per the prevailing regulations and standards.
Meanwhile, previous hints on grilling Minister of Oil, Electricity and Water Dr Khalid Al-Fadel have vanished, considering parliamentary satisfaction over his performance especially since in terms of cooperating with MPs to provide job opportunities for Kuwaitis and respond to parliamentary questions, reports Annahar daily quoting parliamentary sources.
Sources pointed out a lawmaker, who previously called for reopening files of the oil sector, changed his mind as he is now satisfied with the performance of the minister. On the other hand, Al-Fadel responded to a parliamentary question affirming that Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) and its subsidiaries will employ 4,680 citizens as part of its five-year plan until fiscal 2023/2024. He disclosed there are 1,539 jobs for citizens in fiscal 2019/2020 and 1,134 in fiscal 2020/ 2021 for bachelor’s degree and diploma holders – 36 percent of whom are experienced and the rest are recent graduates.
