19 June 2017 Kuwait

Multitude of worshippers spent the 22nd night of the holy month of Ramadan in prayers at different mosques across the country under the atmosphere of faith and spirituality. At the Grand Mosque, thousands of devotees observed the night prayer which was led by Sheikh Bader Al-Ali for the first four rakaats while last four rakaats were led by Sheikh Khaled Aljuhaim. Sheikh Nazem Al-Misbah gave a sermon on the significance of the last ten days of Ramadan and how Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) observed the last ten nights of Ramadan between prayers and reading of the Holy Quran. It is reported from Aisha (R.A) that the prophet used to stay up and pray on the Night of Power (Lailatul- Qadr).

Therefore, it is recommended to stay up and pray whole night. “Whoever stands in (prayer) out of faith and seek reward, then his previous sins are forgiven.” (Bukhari) Sheikh Al-Misbah said, among recommended acts of worship on the last ten days is I’tikf (staying in a mosque for a certain number of days, and devoting oneself to worship, reading the Holy Quran and staying away from worldly affairs). He expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs for its efforts in preparing mosques to receive worshippers during this blessed month. Sheikh Al-Misbah prayed Allah will protect Kuwait and the rest of the countries of the Islamic world.
