More Than 100 Visa Sellers Under Intensive Probe In Central Prison

Attorney General Dhirar Al-Asousi has formed a team of comprising members from the Public Prosecution which works day and night interrogating the more than 100 visa traders, which the authorities say almost all of them are convinced of trafficking in human beings and are currently cooling their heels inside the Central Prison.

A few others who are still being investigated await the same fate. An informed source told most of the investigations are carried out at night and the investigations are carried out under the watchful eye of the Attorney- General himself.

The interrogators are looking at concrete evidences to nail the suspects which the sources say, require great efforts in light of attempts exerted by the accused to evade involvement.

The source pointed out the total number of visa traders has risen to 35. This number is unprecedented in all previous annual statistics, bearing in mind that these crimes are recorded in the first half of the year 2020.

Visa traders detained
The Public Prosecution received two cases related to human trafficking and visa trading, and has decided to detain those accused to conduct investigations.
According to sources, the number of such cases has reached 37 since the launch of the campaign against human trafficking and visa trading. The Public Prosecution received two new cases filed by 23 laborers and detained two accused.
