Money Was Paid To Dozens Of People Of Who Are Dead
The Public Authority for the Disabled while running a check on 17,000 of the 42,000 files of disabled Kuwaitis has discovered several irregularities, including 3,194 domestic workers who are taking care of the disabled are not under the sponsorship of the person she is serving, reports Al-Jarida daily.
Sources disclosed these irregularities include 54 cases of women caring for people with disabilities who are more than 80 years old. The authority also discovered money was being paid to dozens of people of who are dead and the total number of money paid is believed to be KD 400,000 until the end of 2016. The daily quoting sources from the authority said only KD 123,000 has been recovered.
The source said a commission formed by the authority has contacted the people who have received money on behalf of the deceased and asked them to return the money amicably. In some cases the files have been referred to the Fatwa and Legislation Department to recover the money.
