Ministry Of Interior Intensifies Efforts To Combat Drug Smuggling

The Ministry of Interior has escalated its efforts to combat drug smuggling, collaborating closely with relevant security authorities to apprehend individuals involved in trafficking illegal substances and safeguard society from this detrimental menace.

In a recent operation, the General Department of Narcotics Control, in coordination with the General Administration of the Coast Guard, successfully intercepted an attempt to smuggle approximately 40 kilograms of narcotic cannabis and 2,000 Captagon tablets via sea. Two individuals implicated in the smuggling operation were apprehended and are being referred to the Public Prosecution, where appropriate legal actions will be taken against them.

The Ministry of Interior emphasizes the ongoing vigilance of its security personnel in confronting drug dealers and smugglers to protect society from these perilous threats. It urges the public to collaborate with security forces by reporting any suspicious activities through the emergency phone number (112) or the General Administration for Narcotics Control hotline at 1884141.
