Ministry Of Information Accused Of Faulty Allocation Of Land To Magazine
Ministry of Information has been accused of violating law by declining to clarify whether it acted in line with rules and regulations in the allocation of a piece of land to a weekly magazine, although it claimed to have followed instructions from Amiri Diwan, reports Al-Rai daily.
A source implied that the ministry acted contrary to the law by granting a weekly magazine a piece of land without satisfying the rules and regulations laid down for that purpose.
He explained the rule stipulates that print media worthy of such benefit should be a local newspaper that has been publishing for at least one year consecutively.
He stated the Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Mohammad Al-Jabri in response to a parliamentary question from MP Mohammad Dalal clearly said the magazine had not been publishing on a regular basis.
He added that the ministry approached Kuwait Municipality to perfect the decision instead of replying the Amiri Diwan to explain that the magazine did not satisfy the regulations for allocation of the plot
