Ministry Of Electricity And Water Has Arrested Several People For Tampering With Power Supply
The judicial control team of the Ministry of Electricity and Water has arrested several people and has recorded more than 125 complaints against them for tampering with the Ministry’s power supply from Jan 2019 until March 10, 2019, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The daily accompanied members of the team during the campaign in Khaitan and witnessed many irregularities in terms of illegal extensions and other violations.
The deputy head of the team Ahmed Al-Shammari said, the largest number of serious violations recorded since the beginning of 2019, relates to stealing power supply by illegally connecting cables without the knowledge of the ministry especially from buildings which have been demolished which also poses a great risk.
He said that on the issue of waste of water, he said, it is necessary first to warn the owners of apartments and if the violation is repeated action must be taken. He explained the control team monitored a number of violations in the two plots in Khaitan. The owner of the first plot, which is under demolition, allegedly left the electricity box on a public road without disconnecting the power supply which posed a threat to the lives of the road users.
