Ministry Of Education Updates Substitute Teacher Lists For Foreign Nationals
The Ministry of Education is currently in the process of reviewing substitute teacher lists for foreign nationals. In preparation for the academic year's replacement plan, the public education sector has finalized the administrative counterpart's teacher roster. Official approval and notification of these teachers are imminent.
According to an educational source speaking to Al-Rai newspaper, all individuals listed as substitute teachers hold academic specializations with an oversupply in government schools. The public education sector has recently made adjustments to these lists, including deletions and additions, which will soon receive official approval.
The source highlighted that approximately 2,000 applicants, comprising male and female teachers from local contracts across various academic disciplines, have expressed interest in working in the educational sector. However, the ministry has yet to fill a quarter of these positions, indicating a notable failure rate in written tests and interviews, with only around five teachers out of every 50 successfully passing.
In response to this challenge, the administrative sector has engaged in discussions with the public education sector to identify suitable solutions. It is deemed implausible for all applicants to possess low academic qualifications, particularly considering their graduation from colleges of education and basic education.
