Ministry Denies Vaccinating People Of Particular Nationality

The Director of the Health Licensing Department at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Suad Abel, has addressed a message to the directors of private hospitals, medical centers, clinics and private institutions, on the suspension of all elective surgeries in all institutions in the private medical sector, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

Dr. Abel stated in a circular that it will continue to perform emergency surgeries only for two weeks, starting from July 4, due to the current situation imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic and a desire to limit the spread of this virus and requirements necessitate by public health.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Health denied reports that there is a tendency to vaccinate a particular group of people or from a particular nationality, stressing that it is continuing with its plan to vaccinate the targeted groups on priority bases – people who are at risk and those most vulnerable to infection. To clarify reports that Arab nationality government workers and their families will be vaccinated, the ministry stated, it vaccinates the employees of various authorities in the country, including bank employees.

The ministry added, the vaccination centers do not target a particular category or nationality, but all people are vaccinated whose names are sent by the employer to the Ministry of Health, which checks the names of employees to ensure that they meet the necessary conditions for vaccination. On the other hand, a delegation from the French University of Nice visited the headquarters of the Central Department of Primary Health Care at the Sulaibikhat Health Center of the Ministry of Health, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and mechanisms for exchanging experiences, which would contribute to raising the level of medical service.

The ministry said in a statement the delegation met with the director of the department, Dr. Dina Al-Dhubaib, and the representative of the Department of International Health Relations in the ministry, Dr. Abdullah Al-Ali. The ministry explained the French delegation expressed its admiration for the level of service and health care provided to citizens and residents in Kuwait. The meeting also touched on ways to develop the work system and rehabilitate medical personnel to serve both sides. It is noteworthy to mention that the University of Nice has signed a cooperation agreement with the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialties for Kuwait to send Kuwaiti doctors to participate in a fellowship program to fill the shortages in human resources in Kuwait.
