Many Government Bodies Under Probe
Parliament’s Budgets and Final Accounts Committee has launched a fact-finding process concerning the appointment-related violations included in the observations of the State Audit Bureau against a number of government bodies, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The committee addressed the relevant ministers, asking for explanation about the reasons for the violations to occur, and for clarification as to why they did not respond to the correspondences sent to them by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) in this regard.
The committee intends to hold a meeting after receiving the ministers’ responses in order to review their replies and take the necessary procedures. According to the letters sent by the committee, there have been violations related to appointments, provision of allowances and financial benefits including travel and transportation allowances, and organizational structures.
Meanwhile, the State Minister for Economic Affairs and Acting Minister of Finance Mariam Al-Aqeel received a letter from the committee with questions about the reasons behind the lack of cooperation of General Customs Administration with CSC concerning the appointment-related violations, which reached 285 and none of them were rectified
