Linsday Lohan Has Revealed Her Interest To Convert In Islam
Linsday Lohan has revealed that her interest in Islam made her feel ‘scared’ about returning to America.
The American actress, 30, has returned to New York where she spoke at The Mail Online during a Facebook Live and opened up about the recent speculation that she would be converting to Islam. She said: “I’ve studied the Quran for quite some time. “It’s a process to convert to anything. I respect all religions … it’s a beautiful religion and I am a very spiritual person … it’s something I’ve been studying.” She added: “You can’t just convert overnight to a religion.”
However with America’s political climate fraught since President Donald Trump banned people from predominantly Muslim countries from entering, Lindsay who has been spending a great deal of time in Greece and Turkey, revealed that she had her doubts about returning. She said: “I was scared to come here with everything going on because of my personal beliefs.” However she fell short of publicly slamming the president and instead called for America to ‘join him’.
She explained: “I think always in the public eye you’re going to be scrutinized. “He is the president — we have to join him. If (you) can’t beat him, join him.” She also suggested that Trump should visit Turkey and meet the Syrian refugees. “I think it would be a positive thing for America to show their care and support, and for him to experience what it’s like for these people … experience how giving Turkey has been to the refugees and how many they have welcomed in,” she said.
