Lawsuit Filed By Government To Ban Twitter Postponed
The court has postponed hearing into the lawsuit filed by the government to ban the social networking site Twitter in Kuwait to give government defense team time to photograph and prepare documents, reports Al-Anba daily.
The government filed the lawsuit against Twitter after accusing it of spreading lies that harm the Kuwaiti society because the competent government agencies are unable to control dozens of fake accounts which inject poison in the society and offend the state and its symbols and citizens.
On the other hand, the Court of Appeals has obliged the Public Authority for Housing Welfare to pay 6,150 dinars to a citizen, the value of rent from October 2013 to June 2017.
The court stated that the plaintiff’s claim from 1999 to 2013 (the fifth year before filing of the lawsuit in 2018) had expired for more than five years ago.
Attorney Abdul Rahman Al- Muqaddam said that during May 1999, his client had submitted a request for housing to the PAHW and approved the allocation of a government house for him and his children, but declined to pay rent from the date of filing the housing application until the date of filing the claim without justification.
