Kuwait’s First Women’s Weightlifting Tournament
Kuwait’s first Women’s weightlifting tournament kicked off on Sunday with 34 participants, set to take place at Al-Tadamon SC over the course of three days.
Head of the women’s council of Kuwait’s Sporting Federation, Shahad Behbahani said, in a statement to KUNA, that the goal behind this tournament is prepping and scouting for lifters to represent Kuwait in future tournaments. Behbahani applauded Day 1’s lifter performances, which as she said should be a steppingstone to develop lifter’s abilities.
She also added that lifters participating under the weight categories 49kg, 55kg, 59kg are scheduled for Day 1, preceded by the 71kg, 76kg classes on Day 2, and Day 3 for the 81kg, 87kg category in addition to honoring podium position winners.
