Kuwait Sees A Decline In Corona Cases
Intensive Care Unit occupancy drops to between 8 and 10%
The spokesman of Kuwait’s Ministry of Health, Abdullah Al Sanad, revealed on Wednesday that #Kuwait has become one of the countries that is witnessing a decline in COVID-19 cases.
While #Kuwait has seen stability in containing the spread of the virus, Al Sanad called on citizens and residents to continue to adhere to the health measures put in place.
In the past week, the per cent of confirmed COVID-19 cases to swabs conducted, averaged around 4.6 per cent, a steep decline from the past few months where the average was sitting at 10 to 12 per cent.
In addition, on Wednesday Kuwait did not report any COVID-19 deaths.
Al Sanad pointed out that the occupancy in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has dropped to between 8 to 10 per cent. The previous Wednesday there were 56 serious cases, compared to this Wednesday Kuwait reported that there are currently 48 serious cases.
Vaccine process:-
On Saturday, the second batch of the #Pfizer-#BioNTech vaccine arrived in Kuwait, less than a month after the first batch arrived on December 23. The first batch contained 150,000 doses.
So far priority has been given to frontline workers, health care workers, those above the age of 65 and people that suffer from chronic illnesses.
With that being said, the Ministry of Health has opened the pre-registration to anybody wishing to take the vaccine. A website was created to allow those wanting to take the vaccine to pre-register so that the government can indicate who should be given priority, a person’s medical history and have an estimate of how many doses they should order.
