Kuwait Municipality Terminates The Services Of Expats From April
The Kuwait Municipality has started taking legal procedures to terminate the services of 100 expatriate employees by the beginning of April and then replace them with citizens in line with the Kuwaitization policy.
Sources confirmed the decision is in compliance with the directive of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) on the implementation of the Kuwaitization policy in government institutions. Sources said the Administrative Affairs Department at the Municipality has laid down a comprehensive plan on reducing the number of expatriate workers.
Sources disclosed the plan includes non-renewal of the tenure of expatriate workers under two categories — those who work on commission basis and those paid according to the job they do. Sources added the department also asked the CSC to provide the required Kuwaiti employees which will pave way for the submission of a letter about the termination of the services of the concerned expatriate employees in accordance with the laws applied in ministries and other State institutions.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Communications will soon modify its organizational structure, particularly the directors, supervisors and department heads.
