Mosal Receives Request For Fund-raising ‘blood Money’
The requests for fund-raising to solve the issues of blood money have spread to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor after one such request to collect millions of dinars was approved by the ministry, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting sources.
According to the sources, the ministry’s charities sector has received two new requests to collect blood money, one of which is a donation by one of the famous charities worth KD 1.9 million to spare the life of a convict in neighboring country. The sources explained that the Ministry has set specific controls and requirements for approval of collection for the purpose of blood money, including obtaining prior consent by the charity which is recognized by the government and not run by people and the money to be collected under the supervision of the ministry.
The regulations also include documents showing the waiver of the victim’s family issued by the Ministry of Justice. However, cash collection is forbidden but only through the KNET.
