Kuwait Lays To Rest Remains Of 13 Pows, Missing
In a ceremony befitting heroes, Kuwait laid to rest the remains of 13 prisoners of war and missing persons in the Sulaibikhat and Al-Ja’afari cemeteries – a ceremony that was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali, Minister of Interior Sheikh Thamer Al- Ali, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh and the Minister of Finance and Education and a large number of senior military and security personnel from the Ministries of Interior and Defense, the National Guard, state officials, and representatives of official and civil organizations.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali, Minister of Interior Sheikh Thamer Al-Ali, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh and the Minister of Finance and Education and a large number of senior military and security personnel from the Ministries of Interior and Defense, the National Guard, state officials, and representatives of official and civil organizations offer prayers for the Kuwaiti martyrs whose remains have been identified.
Defense Minister Al-Ali in his address to the families of martyrs said the martyrs by laying down their lives for the sake of Kuwait has made Kuwait and the people of Kuwait proud and prayed to God to reward these families. Al-Jaber said he is proud for the sacrifices made by the martyrs to make Kuwait free, proud and dear, by laying down their lives for Kuwait, saying they will always be remembered for their sacrifices throughout the generations.
He added the wealth of Kuwait today embraces the remains of its sons who gave their lives so that who live on this dear land can live in security, safety, pride, elevation and stability, and told the families of these martyrs “the honor of martyrdom will live in the memory of our dear country, which is proud of their heroism and sacrifices.” For his part, minister Anas Al-Saleh said our martyrs have made dear and precious sacrifices for the sake of our dear country, and prayed to God to bless them and give them place in paradise.
Interior Minister Sheikh Thamer Al-Ali congratulated the families of the martyrs for their attainment of martyrdom for the sake of the homeland, stressing that these martyrs will teach generations the meaning of sacrifice – sacrifice for the homeland.
For his part, the head of the committee of the martyrs families and POWs, Fayez Al-Enezi said, “We extend our congratulations to the families of the martyrs. He said the committee will continue in its efforts until the last remains or the POWs on the list is accounted for. Al-Enezi told Al-Seyassah daily the number of prisoners whose remains have been identified is 246, while work is continuing to find the remains of 349 declared missing.
