Kuwait Launches Hackathon To Explore Innovative Ideas Amidst Coronavirus

Kuwait’s 2035 vision and national development plans aimed at exploring innovative ideas, facilitating operation of small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) and supporting business owners and initiatives, an official said Thursday.

Dr. Khaled Mahdi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development, made the remarks after UN Development Program’s (UNDP) office in Kuwait and the Council launched “Kuwait breaks the crisis” Hackathon. The Hackathon, he added, reflected Kuwait’s support to SMEs and innovators towards finding solutions against coronavirus and its impacts on national economy. The Hackathon supports sustainable development goals by 2030, he said. UNDP said the Hackathon came at a time coronavirus was impacting social and economic lives. The Hackathon, it added, encouraged SMEs to confront challenges posed by the virus.
