Kuwait Conducted 179,000 Laboratory Swabs To Detect The Coronavirus
With Corona virus infection in the country reaching 3,288 cases, the Ministry of Health recorded two deaths yesterday, announcing that it had conducted 179,000 laboratory swabs to detect the virus.
The Ministry of Health announced that the number of laboratory smears, which were conducted in the framework of detecting the Corona virus in Kuwait, reached 179 thousand.
The ministry’s spokesperson, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, said at the press conference yesterday that 213 new cases of the virus had been recorded during the past 24 hours, taking the total to 3288.
Al-Sind explained that the new cases were distributed among 31 travel-related cases, all of them citizens, and 177 of contacts, including 38 Kuwaitis, 61 Indians, 26 Egyptians, and 13 Bangladeshis, in addition to casualties from 16 other nationalities, while the cases under investigation are all 5 for citizens.
In return for registering two new deaths of an Indian citizen and resident who had been receiving medical care for weeks, bringing the total deaths to 22, Sind announced that the number of injuries in medical teams reached 105, by less than 1%, indicating that this percentage is low compared to the countries of the world, as it reached in China is 38%, in the United States 3%, Spain 20%, and Italy 10%.
He added that the cases receiving treatment amounted to 2254, and in intensive care 64, with 34 stable cases and 30 critical cases, while the cases of healing reached 1012, following the announcement yesterday of the recovery of 206, indicating that 112 people left the institutional quarantine during the past 24 hours .
In the context, Ministry of health began operating the quarry of the Ministry of Works and providing it with all medical and nursing cadres with a view to treating people infected with the virus, at a time when sources revealed to the newspaper that the field hospital of the quarry began yesterday treating 150 infected people who were transferred to it from various health facilities.
The sources said that the capacity of the “works” quarry exceeds 5 thousand beds, adding that “Health” continues to support the field hospital and intensive care in the medical and logistical services to treat the largest number of injured persons
