Kuwait's Fm Expresses Gov't Readiness To Cooperate With Parliament Over Work Of Al-durra Company

07 February 2018 Kuwait

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah said on Tuesday that the government is cooperating with the National Assembly to facilitate and speed up the work of Al-Durra Company for the recruitment of domestic workers. This came in an intervention by Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled in the regular session of the National Assembly on the remarks raised by an MP on "suspicions of interference by some foreign missions to impede the work of the company (Al-Durra)".

This came as the Parliament was reviewing incoming letters during today's session. Sheikh Sabah asked parliament member Omar Al-Tabtabaei to provide him with an evidence on that matter and to work together on refuting such suspicions.

"We should not let suspicions surround our atmosphere without doing our part together to speed up the work of Al-Durra", he added.

Sheikh Sabah expressed his sincere thanks to the MPs for their interest in addressing matters related to this company.

MP Al-Tabtabei had asked the National Assembly to review his letter he sent to the parliament, in which he requested MPs' approval to task the government to form a committee from the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the management of Al-Durra company and all those involved in the activity of this company and the problems it faces in order to propose appropriate solutions.
