Kfsd In A Press Release - Huge Fire Which Broke Out At Tents Market
The Kuwait Fire Services Directorate (KFSD) in a press release said the huge fire which broke out at tents market in Al-Rai has been brought under control, reports Al-Rai. The Public Relations and Information Department said in a statement fire engines from six fire centers fought the blaze in the tent market which is spread over 5,000-square meters.
Some firemen suffered minor injuries while fighting the blaze and one of them had to be hospitalized. Two workers who were living at the market were admitted to the burns hospital in serious condition but succumbed to their injuries later. A KFSD source said the firemen exerted tremendous efforts to contain the fire in record time and prevent it from spreading to the rest of the market. The same source said a large number of tents were stored in open areas or in stores and did not meet the safety requirements. However, the cause of the fire is being investigated by the fire officials.
