Issuance Of New Licenses For Private Pharmacies Temporarily Suspended By The MOH

Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi, Minister of Health, has issued a ministerial decision temporarily stopping the granting of private pharmacy licenses.

The Minister also decided to form a committee of specialists headed by the Assistant Undersecretary for Pharmaceutical and Food Control Affairs to evaluate the current situation of private pharmacies. The observations will need to be submitted within three months from the date of the first meeting of the committee, the report added.

In addition, the Minister ordered the establishment of a central electronic system under the supervision of the Ministry for monitoring prescriptions for psychotropic substances from private pharmacies.
